“Weißer Gang” (White Path)

White Path

This stone-paved path is known as the “White Path”. The low walls lining this path were whitewashed in the past, hence the name.

In the 19th century, the path was covered by a large vine arbour, allowing one to stroll in the shade from the Pyramid Gate to the Riegersburg castle.

Originally, the tournament grounds were to the right of the path. However, by the 17th century, this area was transformed into a kitchen garden, complete with a fruit-drying oven, an orangery, a winter garden, a garden house, and a chicken coop.
