Fixed Rope Routes for Rock Climbing
Conquering the castle via the rocks
Since 2011, it has been possible to climb the rocks to reach the hilltop castle. The western face of the castle offers alpine enthusiasts five fixed rope routes, with varying degrees of difficulties. Four routes can be tackled independently without professional supervision. Only one route (the virgin route) needs the supervision of a professional guide. This challenging route encircles the entire upper castle.
For climbing enthusiasts who do not require assistance, there are more than 40 sub-routes in single and multi-rope lengths on the castle rock. Here, everyone can find a sub-route that matches their skill level.
At the base of the castle rock, near the visitor centre by the castle lift, there is a high-rope course. This course is ideal for making initial attempts at climbing. At a height of ten metres, there is a course that is well-suited for team-building and group activities.
